If you were witnessing to someone and they said that they do not believe that there is a God, how would you respond?  I believe this is one of the greatest problems of Christianity today, Christians don’t know how to defend their faith to those who do not believe.  Paul would write in 2 Timothy 4:2 that we should be “ready in season and out of season.  Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.”  In other words we should always be ready to defend what we believe and be ready to share the Gospel with all people we come in contact with.  However since many Christians are unable to defend their faith they simply choose not to witness to people.  That is why in my opinion many people feel that Christianity is no longer in touch with today’s society.  Is that true, is God out of touch?  If you believe the Bible when it says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever,” then the answer is no, God is not out of touch with today’s society.  So how do you answer the objection, there is no god?  Here is a good verse to remember when you come across someone who has this belief, “The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”  They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, There is none who does good” (Psalm 14:1).  But you can’t just look at someone and call them a “fool” and then expect them to listen to you and accept your God.  Many people who subscribe to the belief that there is no God believe in Darwinism or a teaching such as the Big Bang Theory.  But the fact of the matter is that there is no scientific evidence to support the Big Bang Theory.  So is a person believes in this, here is a great way you can witness to them.  First of all have them explain the Big Bang Theory as they understand it.  Many people will tell you that this theory states that particles over time condensed until they grew so dense that they exploded.  Your response from here would be, “Where did the particles come from?”  Something had to create them.  That is a question that cannot be answered without a Higher Being creating these particles.  Something can not come from nothing!  All of creation proves that there is a God.  If you wanted to show them that in Scripture you would be able to take them to Romans 1:20, 21.  By not only being able to say that you don’t believe in Darwinism or the Big Bang Theory and then showing them that the Bible clearly refutes those teachings you have a way that you can then witness to them.  From here you can tell them that although the grass and the flowers recognize that there is a God and that He provides for them, God loves them even more.  You can read a passage on this in Matthew 6:25-34 and show them that they are more valuable to God than everything else that has been created.  It is important to be able to defend what you believe.  I remember a professor saying to me, “A belief becomes a conviction when you can back it up with proof.”  I can say that I believe anything, but unless I have proof that backs up what I say then no one will be convinced that I am right.  Hopefully this will help you be able to show that there is a God.  I hope you will come back when we will give you another answer to common objection to Christianity.
